We have an excellent part time opportunity for an enthusiastic and able lawyer to join the in-house legal team at Warrington Borough Council.

Based within Legal Services as part of the Corporate team, you will carry a caseload of matters in a range of areas across the Council teams with demonstrable experience in Town & Country Planning and at least one other area from Highways/Traffic, Licensing, Regulatory, Information Governance and Civil Law proceedings.

You will have incisive analytical skills, accurate drafting, a developed level of interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate resolution of conflict.  You will demonstrate the ability to research legal points and form an opinion, which is both decisive and professional on the varied and complex information available. You will need excellent communication skills, team skills and the ability to interpret legislation in a common sense and practical manner, having due regard to the Council’s legal responsibilities. This role will be expected to provide regular supervision to solicitors and other fee earners and have conduct of the largest and most complex and/or contentious cases as well as deputising for the Legal Services Manager and/or Director of Law & Governance as required.

We offer a supportive environment within a friendly and progressive team with Lexcel accreditation.
