The Role

Warrington Registration Service is looking to expand its pool of sessional registrars to perform and register Marriages, Civil Partnerships, Citizenship Ceremonies and non legal ceremonies including Renewal of Vows and Baby Naming. 

We are an incredibly busy service and the successful candidates will be required to provide availability during the week, weekends and Bank Holidays. 

Ceremonies will either be held at our new offices, 1 Time Square, Warrington, or at approved venues throughout the borough of Warrington.  As the post is based upon attending ceremonies the work will predominantly be Friday, Saturday and Sunday however, you will be required to provide weekday and Bank holiday availability also.


About you

You should have excellent communication skills, a smart appearance and a friendly and positive character.  The ability to speak confidently in public is essential.  As is the ability to understand and apply rules and procedures.   Excellent organisational skills are imperative for this post along with the ability to maintain accurate records and deal with unexpected situations calmly and professionally.

 
As a regular and intrinsic part of this role requires you to speak and write in English, the ability to converse at ease with the public, in accurate spoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role. 

You will be required to travel to various locations throughout the Warrington Borough.

Key Information

Under the Births, Deaths and Marriages regulations 1968 the following are disqualified from being a registrar:-

Non Discharged Bankrupt, Authorised Person, Secretary of Synagogues or Registering Officer for the Society of Friends, Minister Of Religion, Medical Practitioner, Midwife, Undertaker or persons involved in the burial or cremation business or anyone engaged in the business of life insurance.
