The role

The Fostering Team aims to provide placement choice for children and young people in care. The stability of placements is paramount in ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people. The quality of foster placements is recognised as a central component in enabling children and young people in care to achieve a high quality experience of family life. The Fostering Service continually strives to provide sufficient placements wherein foster carers are enabled to develop their skills and capacity to meet the needs of children in their care.

The role of social worker within the fostering service involves the recruitment, assessment, and support of potential foster carers and friends and family foster carers. You will be involved in multi-agency work with children in care and work closely with our safeguarding and children in care teams. Ideally we are looking for social workers who have experience of working with children in care, family and friend’s placements and experience of undertaking fostering assessments.
