It’s an exciting time to be joining Children Social Care in Warrington.

The MASH team in Warrington is stable with all posts filled with permanent staff and much experience. The MASH team effectively manage all referrals received into the service and works closely with our Child in Need teams in developing outstanding social work practice. We have one MASH team in Warrington, the MASH team focus on screening new referrals. Should an initial visit be required or decision to progress to a Child and Family assessment, this is allocated to one of our six CIN teams. The six CIN teams join the MASH on a rolling rota basis to cover duty.

In Warrington we continue to embed a relationship based practice model that has systemic practice at its core. We are working alongside the Centre for Systemic Social Work, who are providing a comprehensive training programme to social workers and managers across our teams.

We are looking for a committed social worker who either has direct experience of working in a Multi - Agency Safeguarding Hub or transferable skills, and who feels confident in speaking over the phone, teams etc. to children and their families and liaising with partner agencies to gather a full picture of a child’s lived experienced in a timely manner. In addition, is able to analyse risk / needs and confidently suggest outcomes. It is essential that the voice of the child and family are heard throughout the work we do.

In Warrington we have an array of services available to support of families including:
No wrong door – a multi-agency hub where young people at risk of going into care get targeted support to cope with the multiple issues they face;
Families first (which includes Family Group Conference Co-ordinators, PAMS assessors and family support workers);
A family time service (to assist in arranging and supervising the time that our children in care spend with their families);
Restore - a service designed to work with Mothers who are pregnant and have children previously moved, with the aim of reducing repeat removals;
Administrative team – the team are able to assist with taking minutes of meetings, scanning documents onto the system and other administrative tasks.

We want all children and families to benefit from high quality and purposeful relationships with professionals. We believe this will help create the best opportunities for people to change and reach their full potential.
