Social Workers - Children in Care
We are looking for qualified, experienced social workers to come and join us here in Warrington.
It’s an exciting time to join Children’s Social Care in Warrington as we are embedding relationship based practice, we have moved to our new offices and were graded as “Good” in our Ofsted Inspection.
A bit about us...
We currently have three teams in our Children in Care Service, with three Team Managers who are eager to support and develop all social workers alongside the senior practitioners in each team. There are good training and development opportunities in Warrington and we value good supervision and Time to Talk. We recognise that everyone is on their own individual journey and will tailor support to help you to achieve.
Here in Warrington we are proud to be graded as Good in all areas in our 2019 Ofsted Inspection. Which Says:-
Most social workers are permanent and experienced employees. This is complemented by a continuous supply of both recently qualified and qualifying social workers, who unanimously endorse the high standard of support and early career development provided by the local authority. Social workers’ morale across the service is high, and they are realising the benefits of smaller teams, continuous allocation to children, manageable caseloads and the considerable investment in their training and development. Social workers also appreciate the importance given to their emotional well-being and welfare through regular ‘check-ins’."
The current vacancies are based within the children in care and care leavers teams where the social workers will have responsibility to undertake specific pieces of work around discharge of care orders, special guardianship orders, and reunification of children home alongside other statutory duties associated with being a social worker within a child in care team. The post holders will initially work alongside the child’s allocated social worker and will then take over case responsibility as the relationship develops.
We are looking for committed social workers who are passionate about supporting children and families to achieve change. We also thrive off good multiagency working and relationships and have excellent support services available to assist with supporting children and families.
We have a strong vision for social work practice in Warrington and are developing a new approach to social work. We are currently embedding a relationship based practice model at its core. We are working alongside the Centre for Systemic Social Work, who are providing a comprehensive training programme to social workers and managers across our teams.
Our Vision in Warrington is ‘We want every child in our care to be healthy, happy and safe, and feel loved, valued and respected.’ Our aim is to improve the life chances for Children and Young People and provide support to our children who are in care by providing achievable outcomes that will overall reduce the number of children in care.
Children in Warrington are at the heart of our thinking and planning with one of our priorities is for them to live in settled families where they can thrive, that there is good early decision making and excellent multi agency planning so children do not “drift in the care system”. This means seeking legal permanence for children and young people at the earliest opportunity so they know where they are going to be living for the rest of their childhood and who their carer’s are going to be.
In Warrington we want all children and families to benefit from high quality and purposeful relationships with professionals. We believe this will help create the best opportunities for people to change and reach their full potential. We also believe one of the most effective ways to improve the outcomes for children and families is through providing our social workers with the best conditions in which they can thrive.
Our commitment to our staff includes:
· A workforce development strategy focused on continually developing our practitioners equipping social workers and managers with the skills and tools they need to do their job confidently and effectively.
· Excellent line management support and the provision of high quality reflective supervisions, from managers trained in using systemic techniques.
· Manageable caseloads and a commitment to promoting a good work life balance.
· A structured and supportive ASYE programme, designed to support, motivate and develop newly qualified social work workers as they embark on their social work career.
· A culture in which you will be encouraged to learn, develop and reflect.
We've recently moved...
We have recently moved to our new building in Times Square, this is a great work space with hubs and pods which provide a great environment to work, furthermore, with cafes and restaurants on the doorstep.
We have high aspirations for our children and welcome those who share our ambition.
So if you want to make a difference to lives of children and young people with relationship based practice at the heart of everything we do and develop great working relationships then come and join us in Warrington where we are passionate about our work with children and families.
