Warrington Borough Council is seeking to expand and develop its team within the Councils Environment Service and is looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and diligent team members with the appropriate skills, qualifications and demonstrable expertise necessary to fulfil the role.
About us
The tree and woodland department is responsible for providing a positive management programme of the council’s tree and woodland stock within the budgets and priorities of the council.
The role
The role can be physically and mentally demanding which may include working at height. An awareness of environmental/community challenges that tree and woodland assets present, in a range of settings, is also desirable.
You will join a strong established team to carry out a thorough inspection of the Council’s tree and woodland assets. This will include but not limited to the use of inspection and decay detection equipment and input data information into the Councils tree inventory system.
You should hold the necessary qualifications, relevant experience and a valid full driving licence.
The post requires a flexible approach to meet service demands which may include being deployed through storm/high wind events to prioritise the tree team’s response.
What’s needed
The minimum requirement for the role includes but not limited to:
· Level 2/3 qualification in Arboriculture or equivalent.
· An understanding of BS 3998:2010.
· Full driving licence.
· Relevant knowledge and experience.
Working hours
The role is full time working a 37 hour week.
