Green waste subscription service is now open! Warrington residents can buy their licences to have their green waste collected by Warrington Borough Council.

The new garden waste collection licences were introduced in 2017 and 39,552 licences were issued for green bins across the borough.

Cllr Judith Guthrie, executive board member for the environment, said: “Our collection service was very popular last year and helped us to recycle 9,500 tonnes of garden waste. We hope that residents will choose to use our service again in 2018.”

For 2018 the licences will cost slightly more with a one pound annual rise. They will now be £34 if bought at Contact Warrington or over the phone but will be only £31 online. You will need to buy a new licence in order to benefit from the first round of collections in March. The service runs fortnightly until November.

You can pay for more than one green bin if you need to. You can also share a bin with neighbour(s) if you don’t produce much garden waste. You can also compost your waste or take it to our community recycling centres if you prefer.
