Driver misused blue badge

A Widnes driver has been ordered to pay £290 after she parked using someone else’s disabled blue badge in Warrington.

Janine Daw, aged 45, of Laurel Bank, Widnes, was summoned to appear at Warrington Magistrates court on 9th May 2018 after she had failed to pay a penalty charge to Warrington Borough Council.

Miss Daw pleaded guilty to one offence of disabled blue badge misuse by post. She displayed a blue badge belonging to someone else and parked on double yellow lines in Warrington Town Centre without the registered blue badge holder.

The court fined Miss Daw £40 on top of the £70 penalty, £150 in costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
