As part of its zero tolerance approach to disabled badge fraud Warrington Borough Council has successfully prosecuted another driver.

David McMutrie, of Dalewood Close, pleaded guilty by post at Warrington Magistrates Court on 18th July to a charge of using a blue badge when the holder of the badge was not present. He had parked on double yellow lines.

Mr McMutrie, aged 70, was fined £69 plus victim surcharge £30 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

The council has prosecuted 12 drivers for fraudulently using blue badges since February 2017 after the end of its ‘Blue Badge Amnesty’.
