Council employees, market traders and nurseries across the town joined forces to support this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal with a big Bring and Buy sale and Toy Appeal at Warrington Market.

The event, which featured the Little Day Nursery on Wilderspool Causeway, Quays Nursery from Grappenhall and Kids Planet in the town centre, spent weeks collecting donations to sell on their stalls.

Warrington Borough Council’s executive board member for culture and partnerships, Cllr Dan Price, said: “The response from colleagues and the public has been fantastic. It’s great to see businesses coming together to support the event. Over £500 was raised and plenty of donations were received for the Council’s annual Toy Appeal – so it was a great success.”

The Children in Need TV appeal took place on Friday 16 November. Donations for the Toy appeal can be dropped off at Warrington Market Information Desk, Orford Community Hub on Festival Avenue, Contact Warrington on Horsemarket Street or Morrison’s in Stockton Heath.
