Memory walk to support dementia-friendly groups

Warrington Borough Council Published: Wednesday, 8th May 2019

Join us for a memory walk in aid of those living with dementia as part of Dementia Action Week.

You can get involved with the walk to help raise money to support people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s in Warrington.

The annual memory walk will take place on Sunday 19 May, 1pm – 3pm, starting at Whitecross Community Centre, Lexden Street.

The 30 to 40 minute walk will take you around Sankey Valley Park, with walkers setting their own pace around the track. The route is also pram and wheelchair friendly and dogs on leads are welcome to join.

The walk will be followed by tea, coffee and cake. There will also be an opportunity to meet some of Warrington’s dementia-friendly groups, where they will be fundraising for local projects. Orford Community Singers will also be entertaining everyone with a special choir performance.

If you’d like to get involved, please register for your place for free. You can do this by contacting Nikki at nattwood@warrington.gov.uk or by calling 01925 818 017.
