Improve your health and wellbeing at ‘One stop shop’
Warrington Borough Council’s Neighbourhood team want to help you improve your wellbeing by getting involved in local activities and health checks.
The one stop shop, which will take place at the Croft Community Centre on Tuesday 15 October from 10.30am - 2.30pm, is open to everyone.
Residents will get the chance to improve their health and wellbeing, with expert advice on hand to give people the chance to learn new skills to live happily and independently.
Cheshire Police, Fire Service, Road Safety and Energy Efficiency will be joining the neighbourhoods team to answer questions and provide helpful tips for people to use at home and in their everyday lives.
Parents and carers will also have the opportunity to complete a mini-first aid course, focused on providing first aid to children.
Cabinet member for leisure and community, Cllr Tony Higgins said: “This is a great initiative and a chance for experts to speak to residents, offering tips and advice on how to stay safe and well.
“The range of different resources at the one stop shop event will make a valuable difference to people’s everyday lives.”
Cabinet member for housing, public health and wellbeing, Cllr Maureen McLoughlin said: “We want residents to ‘count themselves in’ by taking advantage of the health checks available at the one stop shop.
“There’s something for everyone at the event. Know your numbers’ blood pressure checks are on offer, as well as oral health advice, guidance on how to look after your ears and more.
“The one stop shop will make accessing these services easy, with no appointment needed.”
Come along to find out more about local activities that can improve your wellbeing, and speak to the council’s neighbourhood team to share what you would like to see in your community centres.
