Following the Annual Meeting of the Council on Monday 23 May, Mayoral arrangements have been confirmed for the forthcoming year.
As part of a transitional period, Cllr Jean Flaherty, who is currently Mayor of Warrington, will remain in position until 1 July 2023.
Cllr Flaherty will then be replaced by incoming Mayor, Cllr Steve Wright.
Cllr Wright, who represents Bewsey and Whitecross, has the rare privilege of serving two Mayoral terms, having previously been Mayor of Warrington in 2012.
The new Deputy Mayor is Cllr Carol Benson, who currently serves as borough councillor in Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft.
Cllr Flaherty said: “It is has been an honour to be Warrington’s 138th Mayor and I will do my utmost to ensure a smooth transition as I hand over the mayoral chains to Cllr Wright from July.
“I also want to pass on my best wishes to Cllr Benson who is also officially Warrington’s next Deputy Mayor. I know they will both enjoy their roles immensely.”
