The Household Support Fund was introduced in October 2021 to support those most in need this winter.

This funding has been made available to cover the period 6 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 and can help to support households to pay for food, energy and water bills. Information was widely published through multi-agency partners to ensure all eligible families were made aware of the funding.

All previous recipients of the Household Support Fund have been contacted to advise of the eligibility criteria:

  • Households with Free School Meal eligibility will receive £30 per eligible child for January 2022
  • Households receiving council tax support or housing benefit will receive £30 per household for January 2022

These residents and families will receive another payment in February in order to relieve the burden of winter bills.

Cllr Sarah Hall, cabinet member for children’s services said: “Winter can be a time of financial struggle for many people, but especially due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the soaring cost of living.”

“This fund is available to help families in need in Warrington and can help to alleviate some of the burden of increased bills over the winter period. If you believe you’re eligible for support from the fund, please apply online.”
