Public Health training
We offer a range of training throughout the year to frontline workers and volunteers from not-for-profit organisations who work within Warrington to support its residents.
In the main training is free but in certain circumstances charges will be made for cancellation or non-attendance. This is because late cancellation can prevent training places being offered to other people; and both non-attendance and late cancellation can make a course unviable to run. There will also be charges for private or profit making companies to attend training.
If you attend the training and you are not eligible to attend, then you or your organisation will be charged. If you are unsure if you're eligible to attend please call 01925 443442 for an informal chat
If you are from a private or profit making company you will need to pay to attend our courses. The charges are:
- £50.00 per person for any course that lasts up to half a day
- £100.00 per person for any full day course.
You will not be refunded this amount if you do not attend the course.
If you book onto a course and do not turn up your organisation will be charged:
- £50.00 per person, upto a maximum of £150.00 for any course that lasts up to half a day
- £100.00 per person, upto a maximum of £300.00 for full day courses
Your organisation will also be charged the above if you are unable to attend and you cancel your place less than 2 weeks before the planned date of the course.
Cancellations will be taken by email only. Please email email@example.com
For full details of charges please download our cancellation/non-attendance policy [pdf]

Alternatively try "Making every contact count (MECC)" which gives a good understanding of the Public Health team, what we do and what we offer.
If you are a manger booking staff or volunteers on to the training, then we ask that you don’t book more than three people from the same team, onto the same training date. This is to ensure equity, as some sessions are in high demand, we’re keen to offer places on each session to a range of organisations. It’s also because feedback from attendees tells us that a good mix of people with different roles and experiences on each session, tends to create a better learning environment.
