Like many other businesses and departments in the council, our planning team is currently having to work remotely during this coronavirus pandemic.

It's very much business as usual; however, there will be instances where this isn't possible. For example, under current restrictions we can't carry out site visits, so to help us be as efficient as possible, please ensure you send enough information to help us make a decision.

Furthermore, we may also need to change the way we consult on applications. Due to travel restrictions, we can no longer erect site notices, so we won't be carrying out any publicity on applications until such restrictions are lifted.

Despite this upheaval, we still have legal responsibilities, and we'll continue to follow set guidelines around consultation and publicity. Therefore, all decisions will be based on the local plan development, unless material considerations indicate otherwise.

For the time being, it would help us if you submit new applications electronically, as this will help speed up the process.

These are unique and challenging times for everyone, and we thank you in advance for your co-operation.
