Hollinfare cemetery was opened in December 1894 and has burial areas for various religious denominations, and exclusive right of burial is available to buy for individual plots. There are also smaller plots available for cremated remains.

Memorial benches are available in chosen locations. You can sponsor a bench for 10 years, and we’ll inscribe it with a fitting tribute to your loved one. The cemetery also holds a Green Flag award.

Friends of Hollinfare cemetery

The Friends of Hollinfare cemetery (FHC) are a voluntary organisation. They play a vital role in the community and they’re often on hand to help you with any enquiries about the cemetery.

We carry out the routine maintenance of the cemetery plots. The Friends group tend to flower beds, clean around headstones, weed verges, make their own compost and recycle rainwater. They also sometimes paint gates and plant bulbs. They have an excellent knowledge of the history and heritage of the cemetery, and the local families buried there.

We have a great relationship with the FHC, and we enjoy working together to provide your local community with a cemetery everyone is proud to visit. If you’d like to contact the FHC, or get involved, ring us and we’ll put you in touch.
