Following a review of bus services, Warrington Borough Council has announced changes to a number of routes that will take effect in September.

Transport

The council received significant Bus Service Improvement Programme (BSIP) Funding in 2023, which has supported various services across the borough. As this funding period ends, some services will be withdrawn.

The council always seeks to avoid the removal of bus services wherever possible. Unfortunately, without continued financial support, these services are not viable for a commercial bus operator.

The following services will cease operation:

  • Warrington's Own Buses – Service 24: Ends on Sunday, 1 September
  • Howards (Omega Busways) – Services 10 and 47: Ends on Saturday, 14 September
  • MD Coaches – Services 31/31A/33, B29, and 23: Ends on Saturday, 14 September

The council’s transport team is continuing to look for new and innovative ways to provide travel solutions for residents, in addition to active travel options, and is working closely with partner organisations such as Warrington Community Transport

Passengers are advised to check the latest timetables and service updates on the individual operator websites.
