Children and families in Culcheth have plenty of exciting play days ahead, with a revitalised play area to look forward to.

Work will soon be under way on the refurbishment of Culcheth Village Green play area. It will transform the existing play area into an exciting space with a wide range of mixed-age play resources for children.

Brand new additions to the play area will include a zip line, multi-play units, and new seesaws and swing bays.  

The investment is in the region of £213,000, with £140,000 being provided by Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.

Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for leisure and community, Cllr Tony Higgins, said: “It’s great news that work is about to get under way on the refurbishment of Culcheth Village Green play area. This is a fantastic project which will be a real asset for the local community, providing the perfect environment for young people to get active and have fun.”

Chair of Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council, Cllr Keith Bland, said: “We know how important high quality play facilities are in our communities, so we’re delighted to be investing in the Village Green play area, which is such a popular place for local families.

“This project will breathe new life into the site, providing a wonderful play space for children and families to enjoy for years to come.”

The project will be delivered by Wicksteeds Leisure, with work due to be completed in the summer.
