Warrington Borough Council, working in close partnership with Culture Warrington, will be joining the Without Walls’ Creative Development Network in 2023, a consortium of festivals and organisations committed to excellence in outdoor arts.

Without Walls is funded by Arts Council England and will be providing mentorship and development support to Warrington event organisers to expand their programmes of vibrant outdoor activities that bring the community together.

Membership of Without Walls’ Creative Development Network will allow Culture Warrington and the borough council to expand their knowledge of producing outdoor events and connecting with peers across the country to share learning, resources and skills, to ensure that everyone in Warrington has access to a diverse range of high-quality, affordable outdoor cultural experiences.

The council will be working in close partnership with Culture Warrington, an arts charity which consistently brings such high quality arts and culture to the borough as Light Night, the enchanting Museum of the Moon, Gaia, a stunning replica of our planet created using detailed NASA imagery of the Earth's surface and, more recently, the stunning Christmas Spectacular by Double Take Projections which covered the Town Hall with festive scenes.

Leah Biddle, Cultural Manager of Culture Warrington, said: “Over the past few years we've brought some iconic largescale visual art, performances and installations to Warrington either within one of our venues or in our community spaces. We've got some big plans for the next couple of years and we feel that this new link with Without Walls will enable Culture Warrington to produce an even more vibrant and dynamic programme for our communities.”

Cllr Maureen McLaughlin, Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet member responsible for culture, added: “We recognise that events are an essential part of the borough’s cultural offer as they play a crucial role in making our area an attractive and vibrant destination to visit as well as increasing social and health benefits. We are looking forward to working with such a highly regarded company as Without Walls, and to seeing the positive impact our partnership will have on our local events and festivals.”
