About Us

We offer

Providing support and guidance to parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs from 0 to 25 living in Warrington.

We support

  • Parents and cares of children and young people (up to the age of 25 years) with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Young people (age 16 to 25 years) with special educational needs and/or disabilities
  • Professionals working in Warrington who need further help and support on implementing the SEND Code of Practice
  • Client confidentiality is respected. Information will only be shared with the understanding and consent from parents or the young person

What we do

We can support with

  • Understanding the law on special educational needs and/or disabilities and your child’s rights
  • Practical tasks, such as getting your child or young person referred for extra help (SEN Support), asking for an EHC needs assessment, checking a draft EHC plan or contributing to annual reviews
  • Developing good working relationships with professionals working with you and your child across education, health and social care
  • Considering your options and making decisions
  • Feeling listened to and prepared for meetings or reviews
  • Understanding how to deal with disagreements with professionals or how to move forward when things go wrong
  • Sign posting to additional sources of information, advise and support, groups and services

Services we offer

We offer a wide range of activities and services including:

  • A confidential helpline
  • Support at meetings
  • Help to write letters, fill in forms and to understand the assessment information and reports completed by professionals.
  • Parent information days and courses.
  • An independent website

How can we help?

Many children and young people may experience difficulties with their learning at some stage in their lives and/or may need help to manage a long-term condition.

We have a dedicated SENDIASS Information, Advice and Support line with a 24-hour answer phone.

Access to our service is through self-referral.

Referrals can be made by professionals, but only with consent from the person with parental responsibility.

We also respond to email queries and have a contact form to receive requests for support or advise.

What must information advice and support services do to meet the minimum standards?

  • Presentations to parents, schools, health and social care professionals and support groups
  • Sign posting parents to alternative sources of support
  • Independent support for Educational Health Care (EHC) assessment and planning
