If a child or young person is in receipt of travel assistance and there is a material change in circumstances, you must inform us immediately as this could affect your eligibility.
When to inform us about a change in circumstance
- Change in home address
- Change in school or college, including change of school address
- Change in child’s Special Educational Needs
- Change in the family financial situation

Important Information
Please note that the Council reserves the right to request that you re-apply if there is an update to guidance or our policy which may affect your right to transport assistance.
You will be required to re-apply for transport assistance if your child enters a new phase of education i.e. primary to secondary, secondary to post-16.
Please do not contact our team requesting a change to your travel assistance arrangements. You must re-apply in order for this to be considered.
Please be advised that any authorised change of circumstances made during the academic year could take up to 6 weeks to arrange the appropriate assistance required.
Any change in circumstance must be authorised by the SEND Transport Panel. If you are in receipt of Council organised transport, please do not contact the driver or operator directly as they must have agreement from the Council.
