Organised by Marketing Cheshire, the awards recognise excellence and outstanding achievement in the region’s visitor economy.
The awards give eateries, pubs, accommodation providers and much-loved visitor attractions the chance to show why they are a must-visit, as well as highlighting just why the region’s tourism sector is among the nation’s finest.
Warrington Market has been nominated in the ‘Taste of Cheshire’ category, where they will be up against Artezzan Restaurant & Bar, New Chester Market, Nunsmere Hall Hotel, Pastry Pédaleur, and The Forge Chester.
The full list of finalists from across Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, and Warrington sub-regions will battle it out across a wide range of categories at a final awards event on 21 March next year, with some of the winners going on to represent Cheshire at the Visit England Awards for Excellence.
Cllr Tom Jennings, cabinet member for economic development and innovation, said: “The market has gone from strength to strength since opening its doors in 2020, becoming a firm favourite for many people in Warrington and beyond.
“To see the market make the finalist list in the ‘Taste of Cheshire’ category, alongside other high-quality eateries across Cheshire, is an amazing achievement. It reflects the hard work and dedication of the market traders and management team to make it must-visit destination, where customers can enjoy the huge variety of cuisine on offer from across the world.”
Trevor Brocklebank, Chair of Marketing Cheshire and Deputy Chair of Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “It’s been another year of exceptional entries, and everyone shortlisted exemplifies the work that goes on to ensure Cheshire and Warrington is a truly wonderful place to live and visit.
“Our region welcomes over 36.3million visitors each year creating a visitor economy valued at over £3.7billion and the finalists all play a role in this. Judges now have the unenviable task of choosing winners in each category.”
