The annual event honouring those who have fallen in war is taking place at the cenotaph, Bridge Foot on Sunday 9 November 2025.
The Mayor of Warrington will join war veterans, religious leaders and members of the armed forces for Remembrance Sunday.
If you wish to attend the ceremony, please access and exit the cenotaph via the marked crossing points by 10.45am, prior to the civic party taking their positions at the cenotaph.
9.45am: Parade forms outside Warrington Town Hall
10.20am: The parade will set off from the Town Hall and make its way to the cenotaph via Springfield Street, Palmyra Square South, Suez Street, Ryland Street, Bridge Street, and onto the cenotaph at approximately 10.30am
10.59am: The service will begin at the war memorial with the sounding of the ‘Last Post’
11am: Warrington will observe the national two-minute silence, marked by a bugler. Immediately following the silence, the cenotaph service and wreath laying will commence
11.25am (approx): The parade will reform and depart
Delays around the Bridge Foot area are to be expected.
Traffic restrictions will be in place throughout the morning, co-ordinated in collaboration with Cheshire Constabulary, to ensure the safety of the event.
Road closures will be in place across the town centre, including the full closure of Bridge Foot, with no access to Riverside Retail Park, Wharf Industrial Estate or Tanning Court Industrial Estate
Road closures around Queen’s Gardens – inclusive of Sankey Street, Legh Street (from junction of Bath Street to Sankey Street), Springfield Street, Palmyra Square South, Palmyra Square North, Bold Street, Suez Street, Rylands Street and Barbauld Street
Time Square multi-storey car park will be open all day, with parking free of charge.
