Warrington stands ready to play its part in providing support for people fleeing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The government has announced it is temporarily widening eligibility criteria for family migration visas, so more people with relatives living in the UK can apply to come here. Ukrainian nationals who are currently staying, working or studying in the UK can also extend their existing visas by visiting the GOV.UK website.
The government has also launched a sponsorship scheme to make sure that Ukrainians who have been forced to flee their homes have a route to safety. The scheme will match people, charities, businesses and community groups to Ukrainians who do not have family ties to the UK.
You can also email ukraine@warrington.gov.uk if you have any questions or ideas for how you might want to support those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
