Reservation fee 

You'll need to pay a fee of £40 to reserve your date, time and venue.

This fee is non-refundable and it's not a deposit. Any changes of date, time, or venue will be subject to a further non-refundable fee.

Notice of marriage or civil partnership

You and your partner must both give a legal Notice of Marriage or Civil Partnership to the superintendent registrar of the district where you live.

This costs £35 per person.

Certificates

Copies of marriage and civil partnership certificates cost £11.00. One copy is included in the prices above. Should you require more copies you can order them in advance of your ceremony or at any point in the future.

Refunds and Cancellations

Reservation fees are non-refundable, and any change to the date, time or venue of a ceremony will incur a further non-refundable payment of the same amount.

Any ceremony cancelled in writing more than two months to the day in advance will receive a full refund upon request.

Any ceremony cancelled in writing between two months and up to eight days before the ceremony will receive a 50% refund upon request.

Any ceremony cancelled with fewer than 7 full day’s notice will not be refunded.

For any ceremony cancelled or postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, refunds of the ceremony fee will be considered by the Superintendent Registrar on a case by case basis. Similarly, if you have to alter the date, time or venue of your ceremony due to the pandemic, the Superintendent Registrar will consider waiving the reservation fee re-charge on a case by case basis.

Please note, cancellations made over the phone are not accepted in order to protect our couples from fraudulent or malicious cancellations. All cancellations should be made in writing to registrars@warrington.gov.uk.

Useful information about our fees

Our fees are reviewed every year in January, with any price changes coming into effect in April.  Full payment for ceremonies taking place from 1 April 2020 will not be accepted until any new prices have been set. Your Registrar will explain this to you in more detail at the point of booking.

Please note all ceremony bookings are subject to the discretion of the Superintendent Registrar. Though Warrington Register Office will always strive to accommodate your needs, not all days will be available for ceremonies.
