Youth Justice Services Senior Practitioner (Fixed Term)
The role
Cheshire Youth Justice Service are a high performing, nationally recognised and award-winning Youth Justice Service and are seeking to recruit a motivated Senior Practitioner to join our very friendly multi-disciplinary team on a temporary basis - this role is fixed term until March 2025.
You will be part of an experienced Management Team and in addition may manage a small complex case load of young people and/or harmed persons. You will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies to achieve the best outcomes for the public, harmed persons, and the young person themselves whilst also offering direct line management support to staff and volunteers. You will also take your place on a management duty rota which includes the occasional Saturday/Bank Holiday Court.
The post is categorised as Hybrid post which means staff are able to work from a number of office locations and from home at times.
About you
Risk management, public safety and safeguarding are fundamental to our work and candidates need to be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of these requirements as they are integral to the post being offered.
The postholder will have responsibility for overseeing our volunteers. Our volunteer team are a diverse cross section of the community with enormous potential but have individual support needs to help them thrive in the role. This will require high emotional intelligence, excellent communication and IT skills, utilising a relationship-based practice model, and some understanding of the Victims Code of Practice (though training will be given).
You should have the enthusiasm and dedication to work and be keen to support and supervise staff and volunteers alongside countersigning Assessments and quality assuring reports.
A degree level qualification in either social work, youth work, probation, police or relevant qualification in social or criminal justice is essential. If you are not sure whether your qualification is a relevant qualification for this post, please contact the recruiting manager before applying.
