Help keep Warrington moving

Warrington is a place that is always on the move. It’s undergone significant transformation over the last few years, and we have a number of important transport roles available to keep driving our vision for Warrington forward.

We provide hundreds, if not thousands, of different services to the people of Warrington, and as a council our shared vision is to make Warrington the best possible place to live, work, visit and do business.

Our transport priorities support this mission, with key projects which include:

  • Leading on the delivery of a brand new all-electric bus fleet for the Council owned Warrington’s Own Buses via ZEBRA funding and the UK’s first purpose built all electric bus depot
  • Delivering more and better bus services, reduced fares, smart ticketing and comprehensive bus priority measures using Bus Service Improvement Plan and Town Deal funding
  • Delivering ambitious major projects aligned to the town’s Local Plan and Town Deal projects – which will pave the way for long-term transformation across the borough
  • Ensuring that our highways and footways are well maintained and safe to support as many people as possible to choose public transport, walking and cycling, to support our climate and air quality ambitions
  • A focus on championing Warrington’s rail network aligned to HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail to secure a hub station at Warrington Bank Quay

Why Warrington?

People who work for the council are incredibly proud to do so. In our most recent colleague survey, over 90% of employees said that they believe the work they do makes a genuine difference to the people of Warrington.

There are also plenty of opportunities to grow and progress with the council across many of our services.

As well as supporting the progression and development of our people, as a whole the council has been on a journey in recent years. In 2020, we opened our doors to our stunning Time Square offices, which provides a modern, flexible working environment for the majority of our services.

It’s also a much more modern setting for our customers, and we have brought many different departments under one roof.
