Why you consider the Draft Local Plan is not legally compliant or is unsound or fails to comply with the duty to co-operate

I find the local plan relating to Waterworks Lane and Peel Hall to be unsound with many factors not having been taken into consideration. There are many reasons for my objection to the dedication of these parcels of land for development within the local plan.

Summary of comments

My main concerns are: 1. Winwick CofE primary school is already at capacity for new intake with many children having to find alternative schools in the areas of Croft and Culcheth. There is no room for expansion at the school having already extended upon multiple levels. To build another 130 houses in the immediate vicinity of this school without having consideration to where any children will be schooled is ludicrous and irresponsible. 2. The existing provision of healthcare services (such as the GP, dentist and urgent care) are already at capacity in the area with many residents being unable to gain access to an appointments when needed. 3. There are no new roads planned in the local plan to serve these developments meaning any traffic will add to the already excessively busy Winwick village roads. The plan appears to be to relying on the existing road system (Delph Lane, Mill Lane which will likely be via Myddleton Lane/ Waterworks Lane). Also vehicles heading into and out of the development at Waterworks Lane are likely to transit via the centre of Winwick village. This amongst other factors will affect the safety of residents of and their children on busy and often speed affected roads. 4. The impact on the environment any development would have. The development proposed for Waterworks Lane and Peel Hall will have a significant impact on the wildlife in the area, it will increase the pollution in winwick village and add to the carbon footprint. The purpose of greenbelt land (waterworks Lane site) is to prevent urban sprawl and so the proposed development would go against this in it?s entirety. 5. The impact of other major developments in the area. There are many large scale developments proposed in the area (park side development being one which is only 1 mile away) which are already going to have a significant impact on such things as traffic within the village, an impact on the wildlife in the area and pollution to the village as a whole. For the reasons listed above I am strongly opposed to the parts of the local plan which relate to Waterworks Lane and Peel Hall.
