Creative Remedies

Creative Remedies is a programme of arts activities that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of Warrington residents over the age of 18.

The community arts scheme was first set up to offer an alternative treatment for people having or recovering from mild to moderate mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. A range of activities are on offer such as digital photography, art, a music group and also singing and drama classes. The programme has been opened up to anyone over the age of 18 who feels that interaction with these groups would benefit their health and wellbeing.

We aim to engage anyone that feels they could benefit, in particular people who are socially isolated within the community. These groups have helped them to make friends, gain confidence and learn new skills in a relaxed and friendly environment. The groups are run by council staff with the help of external tutors. Staff have a wealth of knowledge on community and cultural activities and can offer support and guidance based on individual needs.

Creative Remedies is open to Warrington residents over the age of 18 who feel that engagement would benefit their health and wellbeing.

You can join in any of these groups by simply contacting Sue Hogan or Pete Regan on 01925 443555 or emailing creativeremedies@warrington.gov.uk
