The role

The Governors of Brook Acre Community Primary School would like to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher to join our excellent team of dedicated staff, committed to ensuring the highest standards and best learning opportunities for the pupils of Brook Acre.

The additional leadership opportunity is suitable for existing senior leaders with an interest in SEND, teachers with previous experience of senior leadership and a passion for SEND or experienced teachers looking to progress to a leadership role within SEND.

Brook Acre is a school moving from strength to strength with a tangible buzz for improvement throughout each key stage. This is an exciting time for our school and a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join our team in developing the quality of provision we offer to ensure each child is provided with outstanding opportunities to move their learning forward.

We are looking for the right candidate to demonstrate outstanding teaching practice to join a dedicated team of teaching and support staff, building on sound starting points to offer excellent progress for all. The key stage/year group assigned to the teaching post will be based on experience and interests of the successful candidate, with flexibility to appoint to either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. Please state key stage/year group preferences within your letter of application.

Due to a change in the school’s staffing structure, the Governors have agreed to the recruitment of a new SEND leader offering a TLR 2a post to work alongside existing SENDCo building on excellent quality and support within the SEND team.

We are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate:

  • Excellent teaching using a wide range of teaching methods to motivate and inspire learners
  • A sound understanding of learning at primary level and with strong subject knowledge in key stages/year groups of key interest
  • A commitment to make a real difference to the lives of the pupils and wider school community
  • The ability to work effectively and contribute positively within a team environment
  • High expectations for the attitudes and behaviour of everyone
  • A sound understanding of child development and high expectations for the success of all pupils
  • The ability to reflect on their own practice, embracing change and striving for improvement
  • A positive outlook and a good sense of humour.

In return we can offer

  • A strong, shared vision for our school within a culture of possibility
  • Happy, enthusiastic pupils, with great potential, who demonstrate outstanding behaviour at the heart of our school
  • An atmosphere of risk taking and flexibility to drive and accelerate the progress of all pupils
  • A fully committed and extremely supportive staff team – working together on one shared aim!
