From Monday 18 March 2024 works will be taking place to resurface sections of Farrell Street and Knutsford Road as shown on the information plan.

The roads and their side roads will be closed, in Phases as shown on the information plan starting with Farrell Street Phase A, between 7:00pm and 1:00am Monday to Friday (Saturday morning) for up to 7 weeks to undertake the works safely.

All roads will be fully open to traffic outside these times.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the works.

Vehicular access will be under the control of the Contractor on site.

Vehicles parked on the road or footway obstructing the works may be removed.

Information on bus diversions will be posted at stops ahead of the start of the scheme.

Residents or businesses needing access to closed sections of road should speak to the contractor as they will provide as much access as is safe to do so, however there will be times, for example when the road surface is being removed or relaid when there may be no access for several hours.

St. Katherine's Way/College Close

When the exit on to Farrell Street is closed during Phase B of the works the one way system will be temporarily suspended at night allowing traffic to go the wrong way and use the current entrance to exit on to Farrell Street.

Powell Street

When the entrance into Powell Street is closed during Phase 2 of the works on Knutsford Road,  the one way system will be temporarily suspended at night allowing traffic to turn into Powell Street from Kingsway South.

Cones, barriers and signs are there for a reason - to protect our workers from danger and to keep the public safe. We urge drivers to pay close attention to safety when driving near roadworks.
