School meals

The Warrington school meals catering service provides your child with healthy, filling and nutritional meals every school day. We provide meals to all Warrington primary schools, Green Lane school and sixth form college, Foxwood school and sixth form college, and Woolston Brook school.

School meals are available to reception children right up to sixth form college students.  Meals are £2.30 per day, however all state-funded infant school children (i.e. those in reception, year 1 and year 2) now receive a free school lunch.

Meal quality and menus

We have worked closely with The Soil Association and have now achieved the  ‘Food For Life Served Here Catering Mark’.  This provides an independent verification that food is fresh, sustainable and from traceable sources.

Over 75% of the dishes on our new menu are freshly prepared daily using fresh, sustainable ingredients which are free from harmful additives, meat and meat products are Red Tractor/Farm Assured, Fish is MCS certified and only free range eggs are used in our dishes. This is good news for animal welfare!

Fresh food that meets nutritional guidelines in schools can lead to better concentration and performance in the classroom, as well as positively influencing eating habits in later life.

We cater for vegetarian, multi-cultural and other special dietary needs. Please contact us with any specific concerns or requests.

We hope your child will enjoy our current menu and we thank you again for your support.

Paying for school meals

You can pay by cash, cheque and direct debit. How often you need to pay for is determined by each individual school.

'Cashless catering' is also available to pay for your child's school lunch and/or morning break at:

  • Woolston Community Primary School
  • Warrington St Barnabas CE Primary School
  • St Wilfrid’s CE Primary School
  • Grappenhall Heys Community Primary School
  • Barrowhall Lane Community Primary School
  • Woolston C.E. Aided School

This means you top up your child's account in advance and they then 'pay' for their meal using just their photo - so there's no more lost dinner money, and less queuing in the canteen!

Please Note

Warrington School Meals Service is changing its cashless catering provider. With effect from Easter 2018, online payments will be made using ParentPay’s payment service.

Your school will be notifying you shortly and issuing activation letters to enable you to create an account for your child or children on ParentPay.

Any balance on your account will be automatically transferred to your new ParentPay account at the switchover on 29 March.

Add money to your child's cashless catering account and check their balance online
