Information about first admission to secondary school in September 2022.

The online form should be completed by Warrington residents only. If you live outside of the Warrington area (i.e. pay council tax to another Local Authority) you're able to state a preference for a Warrington school, but must apply using your home Local Authority’s online application form.  

Children who are due to start secondary school in September 2022, born 1 September 2010 to 31 August 2011 will receive a letter via their current school, which contains information (pdf) on the registration and application processes.

Supplementary forms

Please be aware that if any of your preferences are for a faith school, then you must complete the individual schools own supplementary form, as well as, the application form.

These supplementary forms are used by the schools to provide them with relevant information, to help them decide the correct oversubscription criteria that your child falls under.

Supplementary forms are also available from the individual schools and completed forms should be returned directly to the school.

Verifying information

If you wish your child’s application to be considered under the Child in Care criterion or in accordance with the medical/social criterion, then verifying information in support of your application must be provided at the time you apply. The information should be scanned and emailed to the School Admissions Team at or you can send it by post.

If your child was formerly in care, you must provide details of the Local Authority in which the child was previously in the care of and a copy of the Adoption Certificate, Child Arrangement Order or Special Guardianship Order.

If you'd like your application to be considered against a medical/social criterion, you should provide supporting evidence from a registered professional, such as a Medical Practitioner, Psychologist or Social Worker, which sets out the particular reasons why the school in question is the most suitable school for your child.

You'll find it useful to have your letter and information sheet to hand when starting your online application form. You'll also require your council tax reference number.

Offer information

Offers are communicated to all on time applicants via email, unless you've expressed a preference to be informed via post instead. The email will be sent to the email address you provided on the online application form from 10:00 am on 1 March 2022.

If you do opt to be informed by post, letters will be sent out by second class post on 1 March 2022, so parents/carers should allow time for postage.
