Admission to maintained nursery school /Nursery classes

We maintain one nursery school and 15 nursery classes attached to a variety of primary schools. Children usually attend a maintained nursery for 12 months (three terms) the year before they start reception class. Places are usually offered flexibly; mornings, afternoons or full days, over the choice of 5 days a week. Children can access the 15 and 30 hour entitlements, depending on their eligibility and may also be able to purchase hours too. While places usually run from September, maintained nurseries admit children throughout the year if they have places available.

Early years funding can also be access by any Ofsted regulated preschool, private day nursery or childminder. 

How to apply for a place at a maintained nursery

To apply for a place at a maintained nursery you must complete an application form. The forms are available from schools, or you can download an application form from this webpage. Please send the completed forms to your first-choice school.

Applications for nursery school/nursery classes for children who will be entering Reception class the next September  will be reviewed first.
