The best way to apply for planning permission is through the government’s planning website, the planning portal.
Complete your chosen form, attach the documents and pay in one easy process.
Before you apply make sure you have:
- checked if you require permission for the work you want to do
- found out what supporting information you need to submit with your application
- fully understood how much your application will cost
There’s more information on how to apply on the planning portal website if you’re still unsure.
Alternatively you can submit an application direct to us via email with all relevant supporting documents
What happens next?
Your application comes back to us to decide if you can go ahead with your application or not.
We'll look at a number of factors including how it affects the local area, the environment, policies and other people.
We’ll usually tell you our decision within eight weeks. The time limit for large or complex applications is 13 weeks.
Extensions of Time and Amendments
The circumstances under which Extensions of Time or amendments to the application will be negotiated/accepted can be found in the document below.
